There's a Music addon, a gallery addon, etc...I would like to have/use a Webcomic addon...which would be a simple page that displays individual pages of a comic strip one at a time, with forward and back, start and end buttons, reading the images out of a folder named by date. The page would allow the webcomic owner to upload new comic images directly from the top in a link only they can see. It would be like having a ton of pages, but really just be one page that reads images according to their date. Doesn't have to be too fancy. How hard would it be to set up an add-on like that.

I'll likely buy this system regardless (Perhaps develop such add-on on my own) but I think many of your potential clients would benefit from an official webcomic page like that.

Hi,

the gallery has a slideshow using the lightbox2 theme which can do pretty much what you want - it doesn't read directly from a file but from the gallery page in the database..

I must say a webcomic addon isn't something I've been asked for before..

cheers

tried playing with the gallery, for some reason, it keeps adding this to the text of the page:

p containsvalue="function (valueToCheck) { for (var i = 0;

i tried deleting it, it came back.

see this page: http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/index.php?option=com_uhp2&task=viewpage&user_id=63&pageid=3

I think in general that that would do what we're looking for in being able to have a webcomic. I don't know if we could get rid of the thumbnails and then put up a thumbnail start-point for either the first one or latest one, etc, I can likely develop on that. Maybe it would work if we could just modify a gallery theme to do everything we want. How hard would that be? I really like the way it fades out the site and shows the image. The rest of it could just be in the right wysiwyg stuff...which I'll play with.

Anyway, first things first, any idea what that error is?

OK, the error was the TMEdit. Looking to see what editors work best now...

still having a problem in the gallery addon with editor. switched to tinymce, now, it strips out all html coding. so you can use the space for text...but you can't add breaks or use frames. it only seems to be doing that in the gallery page i set up. everywhere else it functions properly.

i noticed the gallery page is set up so that it doesn't have an actual body, the description space has the space limitation of a header.

This gallery page is CLOSE to what I need, but not quite there yet. ideas? I can let you log on the site with urls to look at if needed.

Tinymce should not act any differently on UHP2 pages..

Not quite sure what you mean here?

I mean when you edit a gallery page, the place where the wysiwyg editor is at is by:

 Edit Page Details
Short Description

and that "short description" is limited to the same number of characters as the HEADER.

Anything I try in that page edit to add html, even a line break or a horizontal line, is stripped away when you save, and just the text words are left to display.

so you can't add images in the description, nor tables, nothing.

and it's only on the gallery page it behaves like that. I'll test it here on your site, see if it's just me.

ok, tested it here: http://www.ravensportal.co.uk/index.php?option=com_uhp2&task=viewpage&user_id=460&pageid=279

did the same thing, I added a break and a horizontal line in the description, neither display on the page.

Yes,

I see what you mean.. the wysiwyg header entry is being treated as a textarea..

I will fix this in UHP2 1.2 which will be released in Beta this week..

Cheers
